Name: Antonie Gouws
Qualifications: SA Air Force Wings, Commercial Pilot, Instrument and Grade III Instructors Rating
What ignited your passion for flying? It was a video cassette brought home by my uncle about the Israeli Air Force in 1997. I saw the F15 and F16 fighter jets and I wanted to do that. I think flying perfectly is the ultimate challenge. You require understanding and ability.
How many flying hours do you have? Approximately and rounded off 349.2hrs
How many aircraft are you rated on? 7
What is your favourite aircraft to fly and why? I think the PC7 MkII. It is powerful, highly agile and once trimmed out basically flies itself. Just takes forever to strap in!
The perfect student would be: Someone who has a passion for flying.
In my spare time I enjoy: I enjoy a good book, good wine and from time to time complaining about how much I fly around the beautiful Cape to my friends who can’t.
